About Us

We are ranchers, farmers, and community leaders who believe the future of food belongs to the people - not corporate packers.

Our Mission Statement

The Independent Cattlemen Association exists to save American ranching by teaching and supporting every rancher in adopting a 'New, proven Business Model'. Built on USDA 'retail exemptions' and SNAP/EBT approval, this model lets ranchers cut, pack, and sell their own beef directly to families - keeping profits on the ranch, protecting land from corporate buyouts, and securing the future of independent cattlemen across the nation.

From Montana Ranch to a National Model

This site was born out of necessity. At Montana Ranch and Cattle Company, we saw firsthand how corporate packers controlled the beef industry, cutting ranchers out of fair profits and families out of fresh food.

Instead of waiting for change, we built it. By using the USDA retail exemption and securing SNAP/EBT authorization, we opened Fresh Harvest Market - our own butcher shop and farm store.

Today, we are one of the the first in the country to pioneer this model. This website exists to share what we learned and help ranchers and farmers everywhere take back control of their livelihoods.

Why We Exist

  • To educate ranchers and farmers on their rights under federal law.

  • To build a nationwide movement of independent producers.

  • To give every family access to fresh, local, affordable food.

  • To decentralize America’s food system and secure food sovereignty.

“This isn’t just about meat.

It’s about freedom, independence, and the survival of American farming.”

Who’s Behind the Work

  • Montana Ranch and Cattle Company – Pioneering ranch and butcher shop.

  • Fresh Harvest Market – First EBT-approved farm market operating under this model.

  • Your Catholic Voice Foundation (YCVF) – Supporting the education and outreach platform.

Join the Movement

Every rancher and farmer who adopts this model strengthens the fight for food independence.

Together, we can reclaim our markets, protect our communities, and revive American ranching and farming.
